How a load moves
From your yard to the ticket
Tell us what is on the ground
Photos and a rough weight are enough to start. We will say straight away if a load is worth moving, before anyone travels.
We assess it by grade
Every grade in the load is identified separately, so nothing valuable disappears into a single description of mixed metal.
We collect
Bins, skips or grab lorry as the job needs. Machinery is disconnected and stripped on site.
Weighed and split
Weighbridge ticket showing the breakdown by grade, so you can see exactly how the load came apart.
Paperwork the same day
Waste transfer notes issued alongside the ticket, so the material is accounted for from the moment it leaves your gate.

Once a building is down to its steel, most of what is left on the slab is worth identifying properly. Most of it still leaves site as mixed grade, because nobody had time to separate it.
- Surveyed before the job starts
- We will walk a building and identify what metal is actually in it, so the arisings are known before the first wall comes down.

A machine broken for scrap counts as mixed grade and nothing more. The same machine sold on, or stripped for the parts people are still hunting for, is a different proposition entirely. We look at both routes and tell you which one the machine is actually suited to.

Straight answers
The things people ask first
Will you take a mixed load?
Yes. We sort it and assess each grade separately. Material that goes out described as one undifferentiated skip of metal is how most people lose out on scrap, particularly when there is copper or brass buried in it.
What paperwork do I get?
A weighbridge ticket with the weight and grade breakdown, and a waste transfer note where the material is covered by duty of care. Both on the day of collection.
How quickly can you collect?
Most local collections are booked within a few working days, and we can move faster on full loads or where a site is being handed back. Ring us with the postcode and we will tell you what is realistic.
Do I need to sort it before you arrive?
No. Sorting is our job and we would rather do it ourselves than have grades mixed by accident. If you have already separated the copper and cable, say so when you call, because it changes how we load.
Can you clear a site under a demolition contract?
Yes. We work alongside demolition and strip-out contractors on construction and demolition arisings, and can assess the metal content of a project before it starts.
Do you buy machinery that still runs?
Yes, and it is worth telling us before anything is cut. A working machine, or one that needs a repair rather than a scrapping, is treated as machinery rather than as weight.
